Aunt Nancy Rocks

This week we've had an extra guest, Aunt Nancy. She filled the freezer with dinners to heat and eat. She cleaned the kitchen and washed the dishes. She even stayed up to do the late night feeding. We even took a nap together one day. Her new name is Nancy Poppins.

Weight Gain Established

After several power bars, protein shakes and twinkies Emily Jane has surpassed her birth weight. Weighing in at 7lbs 2oz, she's lost her girlish figure and shooting for a baby Buddha profile. Dr. was happy and she doesn't have to go back until January 20th. On a similar topic, George and Penny have also gained weight, so they're going on a diet, along with dad. Mom gets 600 extra calories while she's the "human beverage bar". Her words. I'd add beutiful to that description. Check back soon.

The Real Poops of Life

Today Emily did two great things. She gained weight (expected and appreciated) and she pooped. She pooped for the first time in 4 days. It wasn't the benign first poops of life. These are now the real poops of life. Emily, you're going to hate me for this when you're older along with many other things, but your poop stunk up the whole house. And though sometimes really sad things can be gut wrenching, your poop will wrench my gut always and forever. But we still love you more than you know and we can't think of words to describe your face when you are staring at the Christmas tree. We may never take it down.
Happy Birthday auntie Erin!

Emily's First Christmas

Today is Emily's first Christmas. She got lots of kisses and several ounces of milk. She also got to take lots of pictures. She even starred in her first movie. Emily is eating very well and her next weight check is Friday at 2:00. She is the best Christmas present ever. Merry Christmas!

Going Home

Outside our window there was a giant Christmas tree on the building next door. Emily stayed the last night in the nursery so mom and dad could get some sleep. The next morning we started getting ready to go home. Emily Jane lost a few oz's so she was put on a strict diet of protein shakes and twinkies. When we arrived home some little elves had decorated our house. How loved are we!

so this is me

These are my folks. They're pretty nice with their big smiles while I'm only 10 minutes old and all.
I was born on December 20, 2008 and weighed 6 lbs 15 ounces and was 20.5 inches longs. That's 52.1 cm for those of you in the rest of the world. My brain is still pretty immature, so I'm not doing the lbs to kgs yet. Check back soon.
